Dr. Charisse Burden-Stelly is a professor, author and scholar activist. Dr. Burden-Stelly is a professor at Wayne State University where she is a critical Black Studies scholar of political theory, political economy, intellectual history, and historical sociology.
Dr. Burden-Stelly is the co-author, with Dr. Gerald Horne, of W.E.B. Du Bois: A Life in American History.
Dr. Burden-Stelly is also the author of the forthcoming book, “Black Scare/Red Scare Theorizing Capitalist Racism in the United States,” which will be released in November and is currently available for pre-order.
Dr. Burden-Stelly is also the co-editor, with Dr. Jodi Dean, of the book we discuss in the interview: “Organize, Fight, Win: Black Communist Women’s Political Writings.”
And Dr. Jodi Dean is a professor, author and activist. Dr. Dean is a professor of Political Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she teaches political, feminist, and media theory.
Dr. Dean is also the author or editor of at least thirteen books, including “Democracy and Other Neoliberal Fantasies,” “The Communist Horizon,” “Crowds and Party,” and “Comrade: An Essay on Political Belonging.”
