Black Panther Party Street Naming Ceremony – “Black Panther Way” Naming Ceremony In Harlem
(apologies for how blurry this was and the poor quality in general)
On Sunday, August 20, 2023 @ 1:00pm (EDT) the long awaited “Black Panther Way” Co-Street Naming Ceremony will be held during Harlem Week @ W.122nd Street/Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Blvd. which is the site of the original Black Panther Party Harlem Branch office and;
The event will be LIVE streamed world wide on The Activist News Network – You Tube Channel
Residents, clergy, elected officials, educators, scholars, students, athletes, cultural artists,
community organizers, social justice activists and revolutionaries are expected to join with dozens of Veteran Panthers and family members in order to honor the living memory of the
fallen comrades of Harlem’s original New York State Chapter of the Black Panther Party.
This Black August date takes on an even more significant historic meaning for the continuing Black/New Afrikan Liberation struggle, as it is the very same day as when the first African Prisoners Of War landed on August 20, 1619 and America’s institution of chattel slavery began.
We say continuing struggle because slavery does legally exist inside the many prisons of the United States and contrary to government statements there are elderly Political Prisoners and Prisoners of War from the 60s, 70s and 80s still unjustly being held captive in ameriKKKa.
